Thanks:D

So I figured I should post my list of thankful-things while I had time. I'm very excited about the holidays indeed, busy, but less busy at the same time :)

Anyways! Here's my list of things I'm thankful for :)
  1. Mi Familia :) (My family) Yup all bazillion of them, I'm grateful for their love and support.
  2. My Friends! My life wouldn't be quite the same without these amazing people in it.
  3. My phone, yes this made the list, I am a very sad person without it.
  4. The Internet/my computer :) These things make my life much much easier, especially with school!
  5. Starbucks :D Aww the joy this little place brings me :) How wonderful a nice black tea is on a hot day, and a warm mocha on a cold day (:
  6. Books, I absolutely love to read so I'd be a miserable person without books.
  7. TV, my new obsession is PanAm, oh my gosh this show is amazing! So yup I'm pretty grateful for it.
Alright well that's all for today. I may think of more things later, but for right now there's my list :) Sorry no fancy pictures... But I'm a little bit lazy... Lol anyways ta-ta for now :)

Back to Busy! :)

So you may be thinking "Kelly you're crazy! You were busy the whole summer... What does that title even mean??" Allow me to explain. This is what normal week looks like for me during the school year.

Sunday- Church in the morning, lunch with family in the afternoon, LIT at Awana in the evening, and homework at home at night.

Monday- More homework :) Yay me!, cleaning house, and getting ready to attend Awana that night.

Tuesday- Homework, chores, babysitting, just depends lol Tuesdays are designated days for me to do whatever mom needs.

Wednesday- Finishing homework to get ready to turn in, chores, and church in the evenings.

Thursday- This is my crazy day :) It includes waking up at 5:50 (Gag me with a spoon! :P ), going to school from 8AM-3PM, and then running around with my mom after being picked up from school.

Friday- This is my relaxing morning before doing homework in the afternoons.

And Finally Saturday- This day involves homework and whatever my mom needs me to be doing.

So if you thought summer was crazy, meet September-May lol It's fun though, I'm glad to be back to having a "Schedule" (That's funny because everything is subject to change at my house lol) Hopefully I'll be able to keep you more in the loop throughout the school year :)

Review on Bad Girls of the Bible

So I recently joined a site called Blogging for Books by Waterbrook Multnomah, a Christian book publisher. I signed up to blog on one of their books and was given options, I chose Bad Girls of the Bible by Liz Curtis Higgs. The book was beautifully written. I very much enjoyed it. It presented women of the Bible, like Eve, Jezebel, and Lot's wife. These women were all ranked either bad for a moment or bad for eternity. Liz Higgs presented the women in a way that she would first write a fiction short story that was about a woman much like the Biblical one except for modern, then present you the Bible story verse by verse. She would discuss with you the woman and her actions that made her "bad". It was very informative and I came to look at some of the women in a completely different light. It also makes you recognize flaws in your own walk with Christ. I highly encourage you to read this book. It was so well written, very informative, and extremely good.
Thanks for reading my review!
Please rank my review! Your email address is used for verification purposes ONLY, you will not receive any communications.
I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest, unbiased review, by the publisher, Waterbrook Multnomah.

I Pledge Allegiance

So today as missions leader for my youth group I was doing my duty and researching France. The country we will be praying for and learning about in the month of March. Well I thought it might be kind of cool to research the Pledge of Allegiance for France.
I found out though that we, America, are the only country with a pledge of allegiance. I Googled pledge of France, it took me to Wiki-Answers. This was the answer to the question, "What is the pledge of France?"

"I know of only one country that has a national pledge, and that is the USA. It may surprise you to know that many of the rest of us find the idea of the pledge, especially in schools, abhorrent and propagandist."

Somehow that made me feel amazing. Yeah, I live in the only country with a pledge of allegiance. We say it loud and proud all the time. And you know what? It has God in it! Yes, I was suddenly very proud of my country.
How often though do we forget what an amazing country we live in? I know I often get caught up in whining about our politics, our ideals, and the way our country has been ignoring God. Although all those things are true, and can be frustrating, it doesn't mean we are any less of an amazing country! I feel that often we get too busy complaining about things we don't like and not enough being grateful for what we have in our country.
I am so thankful God has blessed America in the way he has, in spite of our rebellious sinful nature. So to wrap up this odd post of randomness. I would like to encourage you the next time you begin to complain to think of the freedoms you enjoy here in America.

Quick like Update

So I have heard people miss me here in blogland.... I guess I didn't realize I was all that interesting. My life has been pretty boring, except for last week! My normal routine is school, Latin, AWANA, church, and Missions. But last week 2 of my best friends from Seattle came for a 5 day visit! Here is a quick review of what we did.

Saturday- Caitlin and Alyssa flew in! We went shopping, and did a few other not super fun things.

Sunday- We went to church, lunch, and then Discipleship Training, after discipleship training we stole my friend Cori from her parents and brought her home too. Four crazy teenager girls.... in the same house.... being insane! We ate lots of Goldfish crackers, laughed so much I thought I ruined my sides, and were generally off the edge.

Monday- We hung out at home, ate pancakes and sausage on a stick :), gave eachother make overs, and did some more crazy stuff. That evening we took Cori home, and then came back ate a quick dinner, gave each other super speedy manicures of fake nails, and headed off for AWANA.

Tuesday- On this day we went and dropped my sister off at college, then went to my favorite restaurant ever Tomato Street, where we each order fun meals. After that it was time to pick up my brothers from my aunts and let my mom and my aunt plan their class. Our source of entertainment was the fact that Caitlin had to take a French final.... it was lovely ;)

Wednesday- We didn't do a ton on Wednesday, hung out at home and did each others hair, helped study for classes, and mourned the fact that the next day would be our last. That evening we went to youth group and met up with Cori, who was sad the girls were leaving almost as much as me.

Thursday- We woke up terribly early (Okay fine, like 7:15!) got ready to go to co-op, loaded the stuff in the car, and headed off. Co-op was nothing overtly exciting, Latin, art, Latin. And during lunch we all almost had a panic attack because we though Caitlin had left her wallet at my house. She thankfully found it and didn't have to stay here, although I wouldn't have minded to badly her parents wanted her back.... After co-op we drove out to the airport and killed time by getting milkshakes at Jack in the Box. When the time finally arrived we had to drop them at the airport. We said a teary farewell, and they went through security. Only to get stopped because my silly friend Caitlin tried to take shampoo through.... When they finally reached the gate, my parents and I left. I was sad to see them leave. But I didn't have much time to mourn because in a mere 2 hours I was going to a play for Cori.

All in all it was a fabulous time! I miss my friends, but it was amazing to get to see them! I hope I have successfully redeemed myself to my old status in blogland. :) Hope to blog again soon about my exciting day of shadowing my city councilwoman.... Ta ta for now!

Things I am Disgusted by!

Okay, so I know my aunt just did something like this. But I really liked the idea so now I am doing it.
So here we go things that make me almost be sick!
  1. Hair that isn't attached to things or people. So like, if I find a hair in the shower, I may potentially become sick to my stomach. Yes I can sometimes become sick because of hairs.
  2. Snakes! Yeeuck! Gross, gross, gross. The sight of a snake on TV makes me want to curl up in a ball in a glass box, with the lid tightly fastened! Snakes make me get goosebumps.
  3. Rats, yes my friends, rats give me the willies, with their creepy teeth, and nas-tacaular tails. I see a rat and I may potential give a frightened scream. Mice are fine, but NO rats!!
  4. Textures, it sounds weird, but if you feed me something or make me touch something that's slimy, I am going to kind of freak out on you. I am a texture FREAK!! I refuse to eat things that don't have a normal texture, such as whipped cream or Jello. Neither one has a normal texture and I can't handle that! No sir-ee!
  5. Spoiled things, like gross milk. I cannot do the sight of something that is chuckily grody! Like spoiled Milk or cottage cheese. They will make me vomit. That's an unnice term, but good grief it's totally true. Sooo, if I come to your house for lunch, no cottage cheese for me!
And theirs my list. I hope you enjoyed it and it inspired you to write a list of your own.

Waiting Game (Again!)

So in my life (well, in any one's life) you spend plenty of time waiting. Waiting to grow up, waiting for school to start, waiting for school to end, waiting for the newest movie (to be in the cheap theater! he he), and waiting for something big. Well right now, I'm mainly waiting for a new house... and bunch of other stuff. I am a very impatient person, so having to wait is not my idea of a good time. Plus if you've read my sisters blogs, or my mothers, or even my aunts, you will quickly discover there isn't much patience floating around for me to latch onto. I'm also waiting for my new curriculum. I don't like waiting, it's boring! I mean lots of times it feels like you sit around and wait and time crawls by and you wait some more. Well, anyway, hopefully by the first of September, we'll have a house and I'll have my curriculum. Thanks for reading my prattle. Hope to see something from most of you soon!

Abbrevations! (LOL!)

Okay, so I have been reading a lot of blogs, e-mails, texts and other assortments of things lately. I have noticed that more and more adults (and teens) are using abbrevations instead of words. (Not that I mind not having to write out "rolling on the floor laughing" with my little tiny keyboard on my phone.) But sometimes there is just no place for abbrevations. Such as when I post on my blog. I am not going to just randomly write ttfn on my blog, simply because some people may not understand that. Also when talking about organizations, like for example, I want to attend HSLDA's college Patrick Henry. Not all of you know about HSLDA, so instead I would write Homschool Legal Defense Assocation, because that is easier for everyone to understand. It may take a few minutes longer, but then no one has to leave a comment asking about HSLDA, I've already explained it. Or another example, we often follow boycotts put out by the American Family Association. Now some non-Christians, and some Christians may not know about this, so in writing the entire thing out I have easily explained saving everyone lots of time.
Basically what I am trying to say is, there is sometimes no place for abbrevations, writing the whole thing out is normally better. It looks more professional and is lots easier to understand. So please some of you who write blogs take notice of mine and please quit using so many abbrevations. I know many will be appreciative myself included.

Internet

Not really sure what to blog about tonight. There's not much we haven't covered.
OHH! I got it!!! E-mail sites, and there pro's and con's.

Gmail- What I use!! I love Gmail, best e-mail site ever!! I would strongly encourage!
Pro's- Super duper spam blocker, fun backgrounds, and great chat.
Con's- No fun stationary for your letters and no fun fonts.

Yahoo- My sister uses this, she likes it I guess
Pro's- Fun stationary and fun fonts
Con's- wretched spam blocker

Comcast- Umm, nothing good to say about this so I'll skip it.

Hotmail- This one is your basic e-mail, good spam blocker but not the best and no fun backgrounds, but they do have fun fonts.

Well, that's pretty much it. Nothing much else to say, thanks for reading!

Recipe Ruckus

Okay so in my honest pursuit to be able to do most things my latest is cooking. I've found that Kraft.com is the most amazing resource for new cooks. (If you've never used it I advise it
strongly.) I would now like to regal you with my recipes made up all by mysenlf!

1. McDonalds Honey Mustard at home! :)
2. Most amazingly fluffy and fun whipped cream.
3. Um, I had a number three but I can't cremember it.

  • Mickey-D's honey mustard recipe (This recipe can be extended or shrunk to meet your needs, because it's currently in 2 serving form)

You will need

3 tablespoons of mayo

2tablespoons of horseradish mustard (Dijon works too, but I like the spice in the horseradish.)

3 teaspoons of honey (This is kind of funny, I used packets from KFC, because we were out of honey! ;) So do use whatever is on hand!)

Mix all ingredients in small bowl or little cup and Viola! Tastes exactly like McDonalds honey mustard.

  • Homemade Whipping Cream!

You will need

A container or half container of fresh whipping cream,

1/2 Cup of granulated sugar (Increase if you do a whole container to whole cup! :)

Put ONLY whipped cream in bowl, it says to have a chilled bowl but I ignored that one, but I did chill my beaters by running them under really cold water. Whip on medium setting for 2 minutes then transfer to high for 1 minute, then add sugar and beat on highest setting 1 or 2 minutes depending on how you want it to look.

And there you go, 2 amazing recipes! I promise the greatness of both, I greatly enjoy both of them. The whipped cream is good on scones and fruit. (Read my mom's blog for more information!) Hopefully you'll have as much fun with the recipes as I do!

Catch Game!

I'll try to do this quickly because it's late, but here's the low down on my life.

I went camping this week, it was so much fun! We crawled across a river on a log, we went four-wheeling and did lots of other crazy things!
I am almost caught up on my math which has to be done before June 10th! Eeek!
I went to Quincy, Washington, most boring town on earth, alright just kidding!
I went to my grandma's a week ago and spent time with her
I learned I really don't like traveling in the car! (I spent SO much time in there these past few weeks!)
I also found out we have an offer on our house in Bonney Lake, hopefully it will sell.
Plus I discovered camping isn't so horrible when you have really fun people to hang out with whilst doing so!

Alright now that I'm done giving you the run down, I'll give you the things I have left to do before July!!!
  • Finish my math
  • Test (June 4th)
  • See my aunt and my cousins
  • Go to my grandma's
  • Finish learning all the VBS songs so I can teach them!
  • Prepare myself to hear HOURS of piano music, Lisa Dawns recital is on saturday
  • And finally finish up some loose ends with the rest of my life

Be glad you don't have my life, it's too crazy!

Thanks for reading,

Lots of Random Stuff

I've missed blogging!
But lately, I have been blogging on a different blog.
Visit here http://www.generationlibby.blogspot.com/ a blog my friends and I created.
You can see my specific posts on Fridays, about Politics.
But today I want to let you in on some of my crazy life!
  • Last week (Tuesday through Saturday) I was hanging out in Seattle with my friend Alyssa. She was in a big play (Beauty and the Beast) Which was very fun! I did her make up one day and her hair 3 days. It was an amazing play.
  • I also have been working desprately to finish up my math before June 10th, so I can acheive my prize.
  • I have been working on finishing up some extra work for Trek.
  • I finished last week at Trek our Missions drive. We earned about $5oo, which I thought was great! The girls won, yea us!
  • I also watched Aliens in the Attic. It was a cute movie. Slightly strange though!
  • And last but not least. I would like to take a few minutes to talk about my mom.

Happy Mothers Day Mom! I wanted to let you know you are the best mom in the whole world. You are an amazing teacher, a great cook, and I could go on for hours about all the great stuff you do. Thank you so much for being there for me all the time. I love you mom!

Carson

So I had a wonderful weekend! I went up to Seattle and attend Veg Fest, but I will leave that for someone else to post about. I want to talk about Carson!

So Carson is my 2 year old nephew. Oh how I adore that little boy. I read his mom's blog today and cried and cried. I didn't even know I contained that many tears! I miss him so terribly. He is so sweet and cute. And since I don't have my own boy, and Gideyon is obsessed with Luke, I will just have to stick to Carson. I am almost at a loss for words, because how do you express all the emotions you have for one little boy? I know I can't love him as much as his mom or dad, but I sure feel like I do. When he came to our house I was totally willing to do anything and everything he asked. Never giving a second thought when asked for Buddy, much to his parents dismay. I wasn't very keen on letting him walk down the stairs alone, although I am sure he would have been perfectly capable. I just can't believe he is two years old. Walking and talking, and doing all the things a little boy should do. It just seems like every year has flown by. I feel almost old, my sister is an adult, my friends are preparing for the almight High school!
When people used to say time flies I would laugh inside, thinking it was still eons until my next birthday or Christmas. Now I understand, I understand that it seems to take forever to be big, and then once you're big you wish to be little again. Oh to have nothing to do but play outside or color in a coloring book, (outside the lines and with one wrong color marker, because no body actually cares!) To not feel bad because you got up at 10:00 in the afternoon. Or have schoolwork waiting at every turn. To never have to worry about a project due, or a paper that needs written. To spend hours pouring over your fake Barbie house, to do nothing all day but what you want. To eat nothing but chicken nuggets and hotdogs. Oh the days of a child!
I am not actually that old, but man alive I feel like it! I feel as though I have lived a very long time, even though it has actually been very short. I still have so many things in my life to do, but something about Carson makes me feel very old. Maybe because he is so little, or maybe because I know that when I am big he will be big.
Anyway,
Carson, I love you very much, and one day if you go back and read your aunts blog, you will find many a post about you and your sister. I love you both very, very much! I hope to see you soon.

Family!

Okay, so at one point in this last week I had 17 people at my house! ALERT ALERT FREAKING OUT! No just kidding. It has actually been really fun, I am about to update you on everything so it may take awhile.

My mom-Not much to tell, just gets a little upset when things aren't running smooth-ish.
Robyn-Good at keeping peace between the sisterhood, makes sure that everyone is doing what they should. (At the moment she is reminding me to get the clothes out the dryer!)
Joel-Being hilarious!! Man alive, I didn't know a person could be so funny, he has just proved me wrong. He is also pretty amazing at keeping small, evil children in check!
Clare-Doing what Clare does best! Helping with whatever needs done. Also preparing for the race she will be running in May, hopefully I will get to go with her!
Katy-Is relishing in the fact that it is spring break! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! And being amazing at shuffling me and Lisa Dawn around.
Lisa Dawn-Is taking care of business, I mean children. She is babysitting, baking, and cleaning! Go Lisa Dawn!!
Me-I am being totally lazy and typing a blog. But then again I don't feel so bad, because Clare is reading, Lisa Dawn is banging, and Katy is talking on the phone. (Real effect I know! Just Kidding!!)
Luke-Being his usual irratating self. Actually he has been pretty helpful in getting children out of parents hair.
Gillyan-Being tiny mom! Whooho! She is really good at making the kids be helpful and stay clean whilst outside.
Mark-Doing absolutely nothing! Nah, he had a doctor's appointment today that went swimmingly. But otherwise he's been basically boring and regular.
Gideyon-Pirates, soliders, Star Wars, you name it and it's boyish Gideyon loves it! So basically he has run around with sword and gun in hand!
Josie-What a cutie pie! I don't think she could be any cuter! She is so sweet and helpful. In fact this morning she made my bed! Thanks Josie!
Carson-Aw, what do I say about him? Um well, he goes around mostly terrorizing people with things like swords or sticks. And absolutely adores "buddy" his pacifier. I am pretty taken with him. I adore him even though yesterday he went around say, "Kelly-Evil!!" Thanks a bazoodle Robyn!
Anyway basically the run down. Oh my dad is in New Orleans, actually he comes home tonight. And if you are thinking, wait whoa! There isn't enough people, my aunt, two cousins, and grandma were here a few days ago. But they had to go home.
But there you go, everything you need to know about my week and more! By the by, I may not post for another long while, because I am super busy lately.
Thanks for reading!

Bible Quizzing!!

I'm back! Hey everyone! I am so pumped, I got 2ND in preliminaries and 1st in finals!! I was so excited. My mom was my coach, along with another woman from AWANA Trek. I was on a team with 2 boys, Gavin and Caleb. They were amazing team mates and I enjoyed being with them. I went with 2 other teams, one got 4th in prelim's the other didn't place. I am so glad that it is over, but also so ready to take on high school Bible Quizzing! I worked hard and loved winning. I am glad that I practiced so much. I am pumped at how well I did, and how well my team did. Caleb was amazing at the verses, and Gavin knew a lot also. I am a little sad we are too little to move on to state, but at the same time glad that I don't have to practice. Thanks so much to all of you who spent time in prayer for me and my team. It means so much to me. I have to go, but thanks for listening to me ramble!

Great Wolf Lodge

I am so excited. My friends and I are going to Great Wolf Lodge for Alyssa's birthday. I really hope I will have a good time. I am not such a big water person, but I feel like I will have a lot more fun with them than alone. When they came to my house earlier in the month we made plans, but nothing panned out until now. We are going in 11 days and I can't wait! We are going with her mom, who thankfully is footing the bill for our venture. We had originally planned to pay our own way, but when it turned out to be for her birthday party her mom agreed to pay. I am buying her a birthday gift, and am at a total loss as to what to buy! I know I will be able to figure out what to buy. I can't wait, I figured I better blog about, because between now and then I may not get the time. So I hope no one is very excited about my blogging. Because I may not blog again until I come back. See you soon!

Facebook Fiend

I want a Facebook really bad! I know that everyone says there not anything special, but does that keep them from having one or posting once or more a day?? I know a blog is great, it really truly is, but a Facebook is something even better. I want a Facebook, because...
  1. Everyone has one!!
  2. I have an easier time keeping up with people who don't blog or e-mail often.
  3. I think it would be fun just to write little things everyday instead of a blog where I feel bad if I write 3 little measly lines.
  4. I could have fun knowing what people are doing, especially people who I would feel really akward e-mailing!
  5. I would be able to stop staring over people's shoulders when they are checking facebook. (Like my mom, and sisters.)
  6. I could let people know I was off to my first baby sitting job, without having to write an entire paragraph about it, because I know no one cares that much.
  7. I could encourage my friend who never does anything but Facebook to maybe write me a-mail or perhaps call me on the phone. Because we always set times, but she is a forgetful person.
  8. I could get to know people, like girls from AWANA, better because they don't e-mail they just Facebook.
  9. I could let people know what was going on in my life without having to e-mail.
  10. If I got one it would allow my friend to get one, becuase her mom said no cause my mom said no! She would be much happier! !

Anyway that was my long speil! I really want a Facebook! I wish that I had one. So maybe if you read this mom you will understand better why I want one. I don't even need it today or tomorrow, but before I turn 15 might be nice!

To The Beach!

I am super excited, my dad's work is having some confrence, convention, party at the beach, and we were invited! I can't wait to go hang out at the beach, even though it will be kind of cold and we won't get to play in the water obviously it will be fun. I have never been to anything that really has to do with my dad's work, we don't get invited to his work Christmas party! But I think that it will be fun to go chill (no pun intented) at the beach in January. I hope that it turns out to be as much fun as I have cracked it up to be! I don't know? But I will be sure to tell you all about it when I get back.

Christmas Eve!

Yeah! I am so excited tomorrow is one of the best days of the year!! I cannot wait to open gifts and enjoy seeing others open theirs from me! I wish that today would speed up! I wish that it would just be night time, so I could get my new Pj's and then open one gift. Then I want to go to bed and wake up and have Christmas! Or the way my adorable cousin spelled it Chrismess! I guess whatever works!
Anyway, I would like to wish you all very merry Christmas, and may you enjoy the rest of the season!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I am so happy, it is officially Christmas time! I love the radio stations, the decorations, I just love it all. The present wrapping is even fun! Okay after about the 47 gift that I've wrapped I am sufficiently all done. I am hyped for the Nutcracker which I get to attend with my friend Alyssa. I can't decide what I am going to wear. But since I have a few days I am not worried. I love the holiday season! Christmas is the best time of year.
But in the fun of all these things I often forget the reason for this fabulous season. Jesus, his birth, his life. That is the reason for this season. I know that if I said that the gifts didn't matter I would kind of be lying. I really enjoy them, would I be devastated if we didn't have them sure. But I also know that I can enjoy getting and giving while loving the reason for the season. I am so glad that we have the joy of Christmas. Imagine how boring winter would be if there was no gift shopping, gift wrapping, decorating, or carol singing. I would imagine I would be so sad and bored. Jesus gives the whole season a reason. Sure you can give gifts, sing songs, and decorate, but it isn't half as fun if there is no rhyme or reason to your gift giving, song singing, or decorating. I also really enjoy the reading of the bible story, the contemplating I due daily during the season of Mary. (I just can't figure that one out. ) I also enjoy the few, okay, lots of weeks off.
But in the hustle and bustle I pray that I would not forget why I am here. Praise the Lord for the oppurtunity to live here and celebrate Christmas!

By the by do you like my new background??
